Laundry Sucks

I live in an apartment complex now. We have pretty much everything I need inside the apartment itself: dish washer (my first time with one!), fridge, oven, microwave, et cetera. Unfortunately, there is no washer or dryer. Instead, there is a room around the corner of the complex where about 10 to 15 washers and dryers await dirty college kids. I’ve been able to get some extra use out of my clothes, or at least I’ve been trying to, for the last week. I’ve finally had enough. At one point I think there might have been something inhabiting my laundry basket. Anyway, I made the short trek tonight for the first time. The machines actually require money to use. You’d think that paying monthly to live AND park here would come with some benefits. But, no. A coin slot (the kind on air hockey tables) is stairing at me. I feel the 2 quarters in my pocket. I need $1.50. Of course, I’m not going to walk all the way back to my apartment. Luckily there was a soda machine. Me, being the genius I am, brought a couple bucks. I put the dollar in and got some change. Of course, only two quarters came out, followed by an avalanche of dimes and nickels. Another dollar goes in, and low and behold, another two quarters. Success! With quarters in hand I start up the machine. That’s where I’m at now - waiting for my clothes to finish washing. Of course, I should start looking for more quarters for the dryer now….
