Daniel Johnston

I know I’m a little behind the times, I have no excuse for my lack of knowledge in this case. While browsing the trailers available from Apple, I found The Devil and Daniel Johnston. It got me really interested in this guy and I looked into him.  He apparently was a singer/songwriter proclaimed to be near genious due to his catchy melodies and lyrics.  I think he’s got a very eerie undertone in most of his songs, even when dealing with seemingly trivial issues. He’s also cited as saying the Beatles are his biggest influence. Definitely someone to look into. Many of his songs can be found as covers done by other bands. I believe Beck does one.  Anyway, I’m going to try and find where I can find this and check it out.
