Animal Collective and Ugly Casanova

It was suggested to me by one of my professors (technically a TA I think) to check out a little Indie band Animal Collective. I was able to pick up three albums: Sung Tongs, Here Comes the Indian, and Feels. I’ve got to say, I enjoyed most of what I heard. Something that struck me as odd was the difference from album to album. If I didn’t already know who I was listening to, I could’ve sworn they were three different groups. I was disappointed by Here Comes the Indian and really enjoyed Sung Tongs. All in all, a good listen. While I’m on the topic of indie music, I also finally got Sharpen Your Teeth by Ugly Casanova. The band is a side project of Isaac Brock from Modest Mouse. The other members are Tim Rutili (Califone, Red Red Meat), Paul Jenkins (The Black Heart Procession), John Orth (Holopaw), and Brian Deck. I really enjoy Brocks voice and the sometimes inane lyrics (especially track 12, “Things I Don’t Remember”).
